WELCOME FROM THE SECRETARY-GENERAL

Students and Advisers,

As Secretary General of the 2021 YSU-LEIMUN High School Conference, I would like to wish you a warm welcome! 2021 will mark my sixth year on staff with LEIMUN and I can't begin to express the enormous gratitude I have for this organization and the many experiences and opportunities I have had here. As this conference begins, I would like you to remember the goals of the United Nations Charter, to "reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom." With these goals in mind, your committees will be able to address real-world problems and come up with creative, co-operative solutions. Thank you again for being here, I wish you all the best of luck.
